There have been attempts to post the 10 Commandments on or near courtrooms. When atheists complain about this the response might be something like “which of the 10 commandments do you not like?” And it might not be said in that nice of a way.
But as comedians such as George Carlin and Ricky Gervais have pointed out, it isn’t that big of a deal. I would say the bigger problem is that so many Commandments are missing.
Where is the Commandment against child abuse, spouse abuse, child pornography? Where is the Commandment against driving while drunk, or spoiling the environment,
It seems we need a new Commandment that says “Thou Shall Not Lie to Protect One’s Religion”.
